Global Category Manager (Semiconductors)

Our client, who is a leading global brand in energy management and industrial automation, is looking for a dynamic Global Category Manager to be responsible for the strategic sourcing direction and supplier management for the company’s semiconductors technologies.

Responsibilities:

The Global Category Manager (Semiconductors) will:

• Develop strategic sourcing direction for the Category and build the Supplier Orientation Chart with all the stakeholders of the commodity.
• Co-lead all supplier sourcing and selection activities for semiconductors with the OTM (Over Temperature Protection) / OCP (Over Current Protection) teams.
• Ensure the long-term competitiveness of the solutions used.
• Ensure that the supply base meets supply chain requirements.
• Ensures that supply base meets technical requirements and innovation objectives
• Be the key contact for selected semiconductor manufacturers and manage these partnerships at a senior level. Lead regular business reviews with these suppliers.
• Lead Global negotiations for semiconductors, be responsible for the final resolution of all contractual agreements, and ensure effective price implementation.
• Ownership and reporting of the Logistics & Quality KPIs of semiconductor suppliers and ensure action plans are in place for major suppliers.
• Support resolution of critical crisis in quality and shortages.
• Develop costs models and cost analysis.
• Updates BU and Plants on suppliers and industry trends and issues.
• Provides relevant market analysis and shares the key commodity information with the technical and purchasing teams.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics or equivalent.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in Electronics Design, Project Management or Purchasing.
• Experience with supplier management and exposure to international markets.
• A good knowledge of the Semiconductor industry.
• Strong ability to influence and convince.
