Channel Sales Manager

Our client, a leading international provider of Automation and Industrial Networking Solutions, is seeking a Channel Sales Manager to be based in their Seoul office. The Channel Sales Manager has to be responsible for all product lines channel account management while maintaining professional relationships, channel policy updates, and channel accounts development to drive profitable growth in each product line primarily for the Korean market, and also the North Asian region.


Channel Sales Manager will:

Channel Account Management

  • Plan, organize and execute channel sales activities and convey policies and procedures to all channel partners/distributors.
  • Meet assigned targets for profitable sales volume and strategic objectives in assigned partner accounts.
  • Proactively lead joint partner planning process that develops mutual performance objectives, financial targets, and critical milestones associated with a productive partner relationship.
  • Manage existing channel relationships and identify opportunities to grow revenue in existing accounts.
  • Maximise share of wallet and customer satisfaction through deployment of robust Account Plans.
  • Coordinate and implement sales programs between sales and channel partners.
  • Plan, organize and execute sales and marketing activities and trainings for all channel partners.
  • Participate in project management teams designed to coordinate service of large or complex projects.
  • Maintain thorough working knowledge of products, programs, pricing, and procedures. Make recommendations to management on ways to improve channel management productivity.

Business and Finance Performance

  • Develop budget and business plan based on the company’s target and strategic goals.
  • Plan and assign quota by channels to execute business plan.
  • Build and maintain company business profile by channels.
  • Work with APAC Channel Team to develop and maintain channel policies, distribution agreements, marketing and incentive schemes.
  • Develop and maintain pricing structure of each product line/business by channels.

Business Operation Performance

  • Develop and execute business and marketing plan with each channels to exceed the company target.
  • Develop and maintain reports on sales performance and inventory reports by channels.
  • Plan and prepare monthly business forecasts by channels.
  • Conduct monthly meeting and quarterly Business Review with each channels.
  • Support and engage in customers facing activities with channels.
  • Assess by channels their sales and technical proficiency level to develop, organise and deliver various training programs, and to the channels’ customers (including resellers) network.
  • Support in delivering a smooth business operation from addressing sales related issues such as pricing, technical issues, documentation, certification, to actual deliverables such as timely and quality delivery of products/services, addressing and rectifying quality defect/issues.
  • Monitor and assess business performance by channels to detect any risk situation to adjust and adapt business plan to counter measure and mitigate risk.

Market Coverage and Growth Performance

  • Develop and manage market coverage by channels according to region and vertical markets.
  • Perform quarterly assessment on existing channel coverage to identify area of growth.
  • Develop and execute plan to expand channel coverage network, by identify new accounts to develop as resellers to existing channels, and development to new channels.

Leadership, Management and teamwork

  • Facilitate communication and resolution of problems between sales and channels. Foster and support day to day communication and collaboration.
  • Build and support a strong team environment. Demonstrate team building leadership skills with co-workers, peers and customers.
  • Provide day to day guidance and necessary communication to the team.


  • Minimum degree qualification in relevant field (Engineering or other technical field and/or Business), or possess a strong track record in professional career relevant to the role.
  • At least 10 years of proven track record in industrial market segments, Channel Management, Business Development, Sales or Marketing roles.
  • Must have experience in automation and/or industrial networking solutions. Technical expertise not required, must have basic understanding of product applications.
  • Ability to use standard business reporting tools and reporting on key metrics.
  • Ability to develop successful cross-functional relationships internally.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage time and resources effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, verbally and writing.
  • Experience in working within an international environment is advantageous.
  • Ability to travel to fulfil the duties of the role – anticipated to average 50% of time.
  • Business level English essential plus local language.
