Sustainability Manager (Commodities Trading)

Our client is a well-established organization and is currently seeking a Sustainability Manager to join their team.

As the Sustainability Manager, you will be responsible for managing a wide range of renewable feed-stock sustainability issues, including palm oil sustainability issues, risk identification & management as well as execution of company strategy for market acceptance and compliance within the Asia-Pacific Region.

You will also be spearheading the company public affairs strategy for the supply regions (Asia-Pacific) and ensuring alignment of raw material compliance with (EU-US) market requirements.
Work closely with internal stakeholders to facilitate and assist development of company feed-stock expansion in Asia-Pacific, especially in China.

Key responsibilities:
a) Stakeholder Engagement (Suppliers, Government and NGOs)
b) Development of sustainable supply chains in Asia-Pacific region
c) Supplier on-boarding for new suppliers
d) Supplier management (risk assessment, training, certification support)
e) Manage key sustainability projects related to specific supply regions

* Bachelor/Master degree in environmental science/ environmental engineering/ agriculture management/ sustainable development or associated subjects
* Min 10 years proven sustainability, CSR related experience in International Organization
* Experience in palm oil or related commodities (such as Cocoa, Rubber, Tea, etc) preferred
* Knowledge of bio-fuels/feedstock products legislation and regulations
* Superior organizational and analytical skills and attention to details
* Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
* Able to speak Bahasa Malay/Indonesia and/or Mandarin is an added advantage
* Able to travel frequently for work.
